We are pleased to announce that the Digital Edition of NPR Issue 5 is now available to download.

For the latest issue of the NPR we’re all ears... having sounded out a veritable concordance of compositions on the theme of MUSIC.

We’re turning to the sweet consolations of words and song... Whether it’s sonnets, symphonies or sonatas we've been looking to the combined abilities of poetry and music to move us, offer solace and provide hope in difficult times.

Due to COVID-19 lockdown restrictions in the UK, publication of latest issue of NPR has been postponed until July 2020.

Thank you to all who have submitted work for consideration. And to those who have had to withdraw to due acceptance elsewhere - congratulations!!

We are currently reviewing submissions and will be responding to all within the next two weeks.

For the fifth issue of The Northampton Poetry Review we're looking for poems on the theme of MUSIC.
We're considering the entwinement of words and music through the ages; from the ancient Greeks and the lyre, medieval troubadours, hard bop and the Beats to rap and lyric poetry.
So whether it's an academic assessment on the syncopation of words and song or simply an ode to your favourite ear worm, we're all ears.... The deadline for submissions is SATURDAY 29 FEBRUARY.For full details on how to submit work for consideration, please refer to our submissions page.

In this febrile political atmosphere we're studying the boiling point, the heat on the street... welcoming words of release, revolt, revolution and revelation... poems, stories, essays as pure as a cool drink of water on a hot summers day...

For the summer issue of NPR we're opening up the window to the cool breeze of freedom... we're talking emancipation from the dog days of summer and constraints of any kind... be they political, physical, sociological or psychological. 

In this febrile political atmosphere we're studying the boiling point, the heat on the street... welcoming words of release, revolt, revolution and revelation... poems, stories, essays as pure as a cool drink of water on a hot summers day...

The theme for the issue is HIBERNATION reflecting upon it as both a biological necessity and a means to rejuvenate and replenish.
We’re helped in that goal by some excellent new writing that includes hibernation poems, wintry reflections and snowy meditations.

Submissions are now open for ISSUE 2: Winter 2017/18

The theme for this issue is HIBERNATION...

After a long and turbulent year we turn to poems of solace with the dark winter nights ahead. 
We're welcoming poems around the theme of hibernation, be they poems of retreat and isolation or meditations on winter and coldness.
We also welcome any poems that reflect upon events from 2017.

The deadline for submissions is SUNDAY 5 NOVEMBER.
